Water Logged: Karleigh's Fish Breeding Chronicles.

A few days have past. I noticed the male and female in the breeding tank have stayed close. I decided to return them to the main tank. I will keep an eye to see if the female gives birth in the next 28-32 days- the fry will most likely belong to the male. As they grow I can start to see how the colour from each fish are passed onto their babies. While the male and female were in the breeding tank, I added one more female and two males. The female is blue and has already had babies once and the two males are supposed to be Tequila Sunrise Guppies. I am pretty sure one of them is either a Candy Cane Guppy or a Tequila Sunset Guppy. This is the guppy in question: His body is very iridescent with a blue tone to it. I now have 5 females and 3 males in the tank. I am going to keep them all together until the first female gives birth. I will see if isolating specific fish works, also if they interact enough in a large tan to mate successfully. It has been a few days. I let the tank begin its cycle. The water went slightly cloudy then cleared up after two days, showing that the bacteria starter has done its magic. Time to add fish to the tank. I tested the water. All my levels were good. I then carefully selected 2 Cobra Guppy Males and 4 "Fancy Guppy" Females. I brought them home put the fish bag in the tank, waiter about 20 minutes then scooped the fish out of the bag and into the tank. They swam freely exploring the huge unknown territory. I fed them then turned out the lights. It was bed time. The next morning I turned on the lights and check on the guppies. One of the males has disappeared. I fed them to see if he was just hiding, still no sign. I began searching; checked all of the ornaments he could hide in, moved all the plants- nothing. i checked the filter, not there either. I checked outside of the tank in case he Free Willied it... nope. He is gone, has left no trace, vanished. I bel...

"I need a hobby, I've watched everything on Netflix." I thought to myself while scrolling through the main menu and settling on "Alien Deep". As I watch I come to the realization "I want to breed fish", and so it began. Over the next few weeks I looked at how to breed fish. After doing some research and deciding how I am going to try, I figured it was time to buy my fish tank. I bought a 37 gallon tank, 40lbs of gravel, decorations and all the accessories- I was ready to go! I get home, manage to get the very big, very heavy tank into my apartment and put it into place. I rinse the gravel and add it to the bottom of the tank. I then stood mid way between the tank and kitchen sink thinking "how is the water going to get from the tap into the tank? I forgot to buy an aquarium vacuum". The solution? Use a half gallon mixing bowl, fill it with water, walk over to the tank, pour in the water, walk back to the kitchen sink and repeat... 74 ti...
